Mary E. Long

Memorial services for Mary E. Long, 79, of Bettendorf, will be 10:30 am on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Inurnment will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. 

Mary passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, IA. 

Mary E. Biever was born on July 8, 1944, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Ann (Fox) Biever. She married Lyle M. Long on June 23, 1972, in Des Moines, IA. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2016. She enjoyed spending time with her family, birdwatching, playing board games and reading. 

Survivors include her children, Nicole (Bruce) Long of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Joe (Amber) Long of Davenport, Iowa, grandchildren, Jordan, Lexi, Adam and Jozie Long and Max Mondanaro, sisters, Kathleen (Dean) Aberman, Rosie (Allen) Bennett, JoAnn (Tom) Kyrske, all of Los Angeles, California and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle and three sisters, Cecelia Carpenter, Teresa Biever and Vivian Biever. 

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
