Mary V. Thomas, 80, a resident of Bettendorf died Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2004 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Private family graveside services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
Mary was born January 18, 1924 in LaGrange, Illinois, the daughter of John & Ethel (Gordon) Argo. She was united in marriage to Arthur Thomas on August 22, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois. He preceded her in death in December of 1967.
She was employed as a cosmetician at the Brady Street Walgreen’s for 30 years, retiring just a few years ago..
Those left to honor her memory include, her daughter & son-in-law, Lynne & Tom Heston of Bettendorf; her son & daughter-in-law, Bob & Candy Thomas of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Amanda Heston, Mike Heston, Nick Thomas and Sarah Laakson & her husband, Brian; her great-granddaughter, Brooke Laakson; and her sister, Frances Scott of Moline, Illinois.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice and Dorothy; her brothers, Clyde and Royce; and her longtime friend & companion, Jack Meyers.
