Mary P. Brauer

Mary Patricia Brauer, 80, a resident of Davenport died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 4, 2003 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport, where she was a member. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Police Chaplain Program.
She was born February 3, 1923 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of John Spaulding & Mary (Wicks) Smith. She married Sylvan “Spike” Brauer on November 8, 1947 in Calamus, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1988.
Mary was employed as a food service worker with the Davenport Public Schools for over 20 years, retiring in 1985 from Smart Junior High School.
She was a former member of the Davenport Moose Auxiliary and treasured the times spent with her beloved family.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons & daughter-in-law, Steve & Therese Brauer of Bettendorf and Mike Brauer of Davenport; her grandchildren, Nicole Morrison & her husband Andy, Mike, Justin and Victoria; her great grandson, Aidan Morrison and her sister-in-law, Nancy Smith of St. Louis, Missouri.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Jack.
