Mavis R. Wilson, 95, of LeClaire, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Princeton, Iowa.
Mavis was born December 11, 1929 in Pine County, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Emilia (Worlicky) Opsahl. On September 23, 1949 she married Lloyd Wilson in St. Paul, Minnesota. To this union, six children were born. She worked at M.A. Ford before joining Lloyd in the family plastering business. In 1980 she went to work at the Metropolitan Medical Lab until her retirement in 1994. She loved dancing, good food, cooking, especially taco feeds, going on bus tours with Lloyd, and wintering in Texas. She was an accomplished seamstress and scrubby maker. Mavis enjoyed her Zion Lutheran Church family and activities.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughter, Patti (Dennis) Wilson-Kermeen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sons, Steve (Karla) Wilson of LeClaire, Craig (Carla) Wilson of Chandler, Arizona, and Kirk (Sherri) Wilson of Montezuma; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; sons, Mark and Bruce; grandson, Jeffrey; two sisters and three brothers.
