Michael E. Leinhauser, 80, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Harmony Utica Ridge in Davenport, Iowa.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Nestor Chapel Cemetery in New Boston, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Quad-City Arts, 1715 2nd Ave. in Rock Island, Illinois 61201.
He was born on July 6, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Betty (Graham) Leinhauser.
On January 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sally Ann Cook in Des Moines, Iowa. They met while both were students at Drake University in Des Moines. Sally preceded him in death on December 13, 2015.
Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and upon his honorable discharge in 1970, he continued to serve in the Iowa National Guard.
He was a journeyman electrician and had also served as a Baptist preacher during his life. He was an avid supporter of the arts and was an accomplished photographer.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Holly Leinhauser of Bettendorf; his son, Michael (Donna) Leinhauser of Indian Head Park, Illinois; his grandchildren, Addie (Cameron), Carlin (Jordan), Samuel (Meagan), Alec, Blake and Mia; his great-grandchildren, Addaleigh, Macy, Luna, Sage and Winter; and his sisters, Sharon Leinhauser in Colorado, Carol Leinhauser (David) Mulller of Iowa City, Iowa and Karen Leinhauser (David) Williams of Des Moines.
In addition to his wife, Sally, he was preceded in death by his parents.
