Mildred “Milli” Anderson Illingworth, 97, of Bettendorf, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 14, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Her service will be live-streamed, and a link will be available with her obituary at www.McGinnis-Chambers.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, or Empower House, 131 W. 2nd St., Suite 305, Davenport, IA 52801.

Milli was born on January 18, 1926, in Sturgeon Bay, WI to Helen (Conjurske) and Arthur Anderson. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin. There she met Richard Illingworth; they were married in 1949 and raised four

children. She worked as an administrative assistant at John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan, retiring in January 1989.

Milli will be remembered as an artistic, clever, and fun-loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. A talented seamstress and embroiderer, Milli created unique designs, purses, clothes – her creativity seemed endless. She enjoyed teaching bridge for over 20 years and was a wonderful cook and baker – well known for “Grandma’s bread.” Milli loved cheering for the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, friends and her children’s friends, hosting many get-togethers at her home on Walnut Street.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Mike “Arch”) Ratkiewicz of Moline, Illinois, Cynthia (Steve) Rowley-Sullivan of Coal Valley, Illinois, and her son, Robert “Bob” (Payao “Noy”) Illingworth of Bettendorf. Her grandchildren include Chad Rowley, Scott Rowley (Corry), Andrea Machacek (Jake), Katie Ratkiewicz, Christopher Rowley, Tommy Ratkiewicz-Stierwalt (Troy), and Benjaporn “Ben” Pramjit. She also leaves behind 4 great grandchildren, Jadyn, Taylor, Keeton, and Braeden, and 5 step great grandchildren, Olivia, Macy, Domenica, Nikkita, and Athena, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Milli was preceded in death by her son, Richard Thomas Illingworth, her parents, sisters, Betty Bauldry and Arlene Birdsall, ex-husband, Richard J. Illingworth, and niece Bonnie LaPlant.

The family would like to thank the caring staff and volunteers at Genesis Hospice and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their compassionate and skilled care.
