Natalie Stender

Natalie J. Stender, 80, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Davenport.

Private family graveside services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 26 of Davenport.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born on November 8, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Machalek) Armstrong.  On October 26, 1962, she was united in marriage to Donald H. Stender in LeClaire, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on April 16, 2016.

Natalie was a devoted homemaker, wife, mom and grandma.  She loved sewing and always had a tender place in her heart for animals.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Pamela Cook of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Jennifer (William) Gill, Alexander Cook and Cassandra (Bobby) Cook; her great-grandchildren, Jayden Gill, Abigail Gill, Madeline Gill, Kamren Hippensteel, Kaleb Hippensteel, Karley Hippensteel, Harmony Cook, Carter Cook and “Lil” John Cook.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Kelsey Hippensteel; her son-in-law, Rev. John Cook and her brother Richard Armstrong.
