Olan J. Shadrick

Olan J. Shadrick, 82, a resident of Granger, Missouri and formerly of LeClaire, Iowa died Friday, February 11, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
He was born February 8, 1923 in Ira, Missouri, the son of Weldie & Lyda (Eidson) Shadrick. On December 23, 1950, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Grubb in LeClaire.
Olan was employed as a millwright at the Alcoa Company, Davenport Works for many years, retiring several years ago.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army with a tank company in the European Theater. Upon his honorable discharge, he was awarded the Silver Star for valor, the Bronze Star and several other related military medals.
He was a member of Snow Lodge #44, A.F. & A.M. of LeClaire for over 30 years.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, JoAnn; his children & their spouses, Larry Shadrick & his wife, Mary of Camdenton, Missouri, Donna Rourke & her husband, Ron of Eldon, Missouri, Shirli Jo of Granger, Missouri, Paige Tague & her husband, Jim Jr. of LeClaire, Iowa, Vince Shadrick & his wife, Marissa of Redding, California and Bonnie Laws & her husband, Mike of LeClaire; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Ilean Stark of LeClaire, Glayda Petty of Clio, Iowa and Sharon Ney of Hubbard, Missouri; and his brother, Owen Shadrick in Missouri.
Olan was preceded in death by one grandson, one sister and by his parents.
