Orville J. Hesse

Orville J. Hesse, 93, a resident of Pleasant Valley, Iowa died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Riverview Valley Nursing Center in Pleasant Valley.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Riverview Manor Resident’s Activities Fund.
He was born September 12, 1914 in Pleasant Valley, the son of Joseph & Sadie (Sreeve) Hesse. On September 19, 1937, he was united in marriage to Margaret I. Nielsen in Pleasant Valley.
Orville was employed as a millwright and crane operator at Sivyer Steel Company in Bettendorf.
He was an accomplished pianist & violinist and especially enjoyed fishing trips to Canada and Wisconsin. In earlier years, he had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Pleasant Valley.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret; his daughter, Constance Curlott of LeClaire, Iowa; his son, Dennis (Martha) Hesse of Arlington Heights, Illinois; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
His sister, Alice Watkins, his son-in-law, George Curlott and his great-grandson, David Hesse, preceded him in death.
