Patricia L. Bain, 91, of Bettendorf passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Mercy One Genesis, Davenport.

      A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

      Patricia was born on October 29, 1934 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Ethel (Weatherwax) Miller. She was united in marriage to Robert W. Bain in Kahoka, Missouri on October 29, 1952. She graduated from Davenport High School, class of 1953. Patricia worked as a secretary at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital. She later served as the secretary to the Scott County Sheriff for 18 years prior to her retirement in 1988. Patricia enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, bird watching, and was an avid reader. She was also a member of the Blue Knights International auxiliary.

      Those left to honor her memory are her children, Bob (Patty Gayle) Bain Jr., Cindi (Alan) Sanderson, Marti (Rick) Bainbridge, Fred (Mary) Bain, Sherri (Mac) McShane; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and son, Doug Bain.
