Patricia M. "Patty" Chesling

Patricia M. “Patty” Chesling, 82, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Silvis Center in Silvis, Illinois.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Westside Assembly of God Church, 3908 W. River Dr. in Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Patty was born in Muscatine, Iowa on July 29, 1942, the daughter of Harvey and Doris (Gaines) Edwards. On April 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ralland L. Chesling in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2010. Patty was a devoted employee of Westside Assembly of God for many years always providing help wherever it was needed. In her spare time, she loved to bake, was an avid reader and was always ready to go shopping with her friends. Her family, church and faith were the center of her life, and she will always be remembered for the joy she brought to others. 

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Scott Douglas Chesling of Moline, Illinois, David Lee (Gina) Chesling of Mena, Arkansas and Christine Marie (Ron) Wicks of Davenport; her grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Bundy, Emily Chesling, Weston (Miranda) Chesling, Aaron (Beth) Chesling, Rebecca (Jason) Townsley, Andrew (Brittany) Wicks and Anna (Travis) Johnson; thirteen great-grandchildren; her brothers, Gary (Robyn) Edwards and Fred (Robin) Edwards, all of Muscatine and many close and special friends. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
