Patricia A. Wendhausen

Patricia (Pat) Wendhausen of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 after an extended illness.

Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, followed by a committal service at the Davenport Memorial Park chapel in Davenport, Iowa. Per Pat’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Pat was born to Hugh and Catherine (Guettner) Barnard in Harriman, Tennessee on April 11, 1941. She married Otto Wendhausen Jr. in Bettendorf on May 25, 1963. They farmed in rural LeClaire, Iowa for decades before Otto retired in 2006. Their 60+ year marriage blessed them with two children, Janelle and Dana.

Those left to honor Pat’s memory include her daughters, Janelle (Guy) Ewoldt of Delmar, Iowa and Dana (Ken) Kobold of Arvada, Colorado; two grandsons, Austin Ewoldt and Jordan (Emily) Ewoldt and her great-grandson, Otto, all of Delmar; her sisters, BJ (Jim) Wilson of Galesburg, Michigan, Peggy Barnard of Fenton, Illinois and Debra Barnard of Davenport; her brothers, Don (Glenda) Barnard of Bloomington, Illinois and Dwight Barnard of Davenport; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Heuer, Joann Boysen and Marsha Ketelsen; her brother-in-law, Merle (Janet) Wendhausen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David (Annette) Barnard and Dale Barnard.

Her family, friends, and volunteering brought her much joy in life. Additionally, the farm held a sense of magic for Pat and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s charity of choice or take the time to make a lunch date with friends.
