Phyllis Dearing

Phyllis E. Dearing, 96, of LeClaire, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at UnityPoint Health in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  An additional visitation will be held an hour before the funeral service on Thursday at the church. An Eastern Star service will be held on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Face masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.  Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire.  Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to the Buffalo Bill Museum.

Phyllis was born February 7, 1925 in LeClaire, the daughter of Frank & Clara (Fecker) Clark.  She was united in marriage to William T. Dearing Jr. in LeClaire in 1946.  He preceded her in death on April 4, 2002.

Phyllis had first been employed with the White-Phillips Company and was a legal secretary for several years.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Silver Creek Chapter in LeClaire and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 347.  Phyllis was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and sons-in-law, Gale & Jim Ryan of McAllen, Texas and Lark & Mike Randall of LeClaire.

In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Faith Cornelius.
