Phyllis C. Smith, 92, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Silvercrest Assisted Living.

      Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3rd at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Princeton, Iowa. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, is assisting the family with arrangements.

      Phyllis was born on May 20, 1934 in Moravia, Iowa, the daughter of Orville and Mildred (Thompson) Dudley. On September 23, 1953, she married Richard D. Smith in Bettendorf. She enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, camping, fishing, and tending to her flowers. Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

      Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Lemaster of Muscatine and Diane Abney of Davenport; son, Mark Smith of Princeton; grandchildren, Kerry (Trey) McBride and Kate Lemaster; great-grandchildren, Evan and Colin McBride; and her faithful canine companion, Callie.

       In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; son, Roger Smith; and son-in-law, Marty Lemaster.
