Randall Wayne Beard

Funeral services for Randall Wayne Beard, 69, of Blue Grass, will be 1:00 pm on Friday, Sept 5, 2025, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Family will greet friends on Friday from 11:00 am to service time at the funeral home.

Randall passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the VA Medical Center, Iowa City, IA.

Randall was born on May 13, 1956, in Pomona, CA, the son of Lyle and Marie (Robertson) Beard. He married Jeanette Curran on December 17, 2016, in Howell, MI. In 1974, Randall entered the Army where he served as Staff Sergeant. After retiring from the military, he worked for TACOM for 15 years training troops on the CROWS system (Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station) until his retirement in 2018. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed collecting model trains, working on cars and playing with his four dogs.. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of Blue Grass, Iowa; his step-son, Erik Peterson of Michigan; his siblings, Roya (Dennis) Francis of Wildwood, Missouri, Ronda (James) Johnson of Davenport, Iowa and Richard (Maria) Beard of Bettendorf, Iowa; his nieces and nephews, James (Alison) Poehlman, Steven (Marlo) Beard, Drew (Angela) Beard, Kelsey Francis, Joseph Beard, Matthew Poehlman, Rachel Poehlman, Kaden Beard, Rylan Poehlman and Aurora Beard.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
