Richard Danielsen

Funeral services for Richard L. Danielsen, 88, of Davenport, Iowa, will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Family will greet friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport.

Richard passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Davenport

Richard was born on February 4, 1932 in Davenport, the son of John and Irene (Steinbeck) Danielsen.  He married Dorothy Wittrock on February 16, 1957 in Princeton, Illinois. Richard worked at Alcoa for 38 years on the hotline, retiring in 1994.

Richard enjoyed puzzles, watching golf, tinkering around in his garage, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Davenport; his sons, David (Pam) Danielsen of Rock Island, Illinois and Tony (Lori) Danielsen of Eldridge, Iowa; his daughters, Crystal (Richard) Henkel of Davenport and Nancy Brizzolara and Dixie Korch, both of Davenport; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; his sister, JoAnn Liming of Gridley, Illinois; and his brother, Clifford Danielsen of East Moline, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Betty Burkhardt.
