Richard Ivan Groom

Funeral services for Richard Ivan Groom, 92, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL., where military rites will be conducted. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 10:00 am to service time at the funeral home.

Richard passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Kahl Home for the Aged, Davenport, IA.

Richard was born on May 22, 1933, in Stueben, WI, the son of Enoch and Maude (Lomas) Groom. He married Donna Endorf on April 9, 1991, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as an electrician at Oscar Mayer for 40 years, retiring in 2000. He served in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing and working outside in the yard.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Davenport, daughters, Dawn (Rick) Pruter of Iowa City, IA, Kathy (Glen) Groom-Jones of Tiffin, IA, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lana Jane Groom, brothers, Claire, Jack, Bill, Donald, Harry, Tom and sisters, Cleo Martin and Marie Daugherty.
