Rita D. Eckhart

Rita D. Eckhart, 80, a resident of McCausland, Iowa passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 after an extended illness.

A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Center for Active Seniors, Inc. (C.A.S.I.) of Davenport. Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born in Davenport, Iowa on November 25, 1943, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Earl) Boarts and was a graduate of Rock Island High School.

On June 10, 1962, Rita was united in marriage to Dean A. Eckhart in East Moline, Illinois.

She was a devoted wife, mom & grandma who also worked part-time at Walmart in Davenport.

Rita was a member of C.A.S.I. and an active member of their crochet class.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dean; her sons, Dean Eckhart of Tucson, Arizona, Mike (Sillisa) Eckhart of Preston, Iowa and James Eckhart of McCausland; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Lissa Tillburg of Rock Island, Illinois; and her brother, Dennis Boarts of Silvis, Illinois.

Rita was preceded in death by her daughter, Bethly; her son, Jeffrey; and her parents.
