Rodney D. Vearrier Jr., 67, a resident of Colona, Illinois died on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at his home.

     A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

     He was born on October 22, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Rodney and Janice L. (Smith) Vearrier Sr.

     Rodney was employed as body and automotive paint specialist at Zimmerman’s Body Shop in Rock Island and later at Tuttle’s Body Shop in East Moline.

     He was very skilled in his work and took great pride in his abilities to repair and paint vehicles. NASCAR and all forms of racing were some of his favorite activities.

     Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Danielle Bloomer-Vearrier and Michelle Harris, both of Davenport; his grandchildren, Mason, Jillian, Alayna, Draven, Avery and Aiden; his sisters, Debbie Posey of Davenport, Lori Wolfe of Marco Island, Florida and Robi Scheel of Davenport; and his aunt, Jacqueline Hillyer of Bettendorf.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, William Hillyer.
