Roma E. Dickson

Visitation for Roma Emilie Dickson, 103, of Davenport, will be Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. A private family burial will follow on Monday at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Roma passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport, Iowa.

Roma Emilie Joens was born on July 2, 1920, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Martha (Horst) Joens. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1938. She married Martin E. Dickson on September 2, 1939, in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on April 12, 1959. Roma and her husband farmed northwest of Davenport for many years, retiring the family farm in 1965. She enjoyed listening to books on tape, playing cards, and having a beer with her grandson-in-law, every year on her birthday.

        Survivors include her son, Thomas Dickson of East Moline, Illinois; five grandchildren, Carol Henry of Port Byron, Illinois, Michael Dickson of Marco Island, Florida, Michelle Dickson of Bettendorf, Iowa, Kenneth Cashion of East Moline, Illinois, Jodi Malmgren of West Fargo, North Dakota; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

;She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Betty Ann Cashion; son, Jerald Dickson; brother, Roy Joens; daughters-in-law,  JoAnn Dickson and Sharon Dickson, and great-granddaughter, Nikki Flesher.

Memorials may be directed to the Activities Department of the Crest Health Care Center, Ridgecrest Village, Davenport.
