Ronald Walter Severt

Visitation for Ronald Walter Severt, 84, of Davenport will be Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, IA. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, where military rites will be conducted.

Ronald passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis East Campus, Davenport.

Ronald Severt was born on June 14, 1941, in Bettendorf, IA, the son of Henry and Evalina (Eickert) Severt. Ronald joined the U.S. Navy and while overseas he met Sue Sato, and they were married on July 6, 1965, at the American Embassy in Japan. He worked as a gas turbine specialist in the military, retiring in June of 1980 after 20 years of service. He finished his career as a Maintenance Foreman for Wilton Precision Steel. He was an avid Cub’s fan.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Sue, children, Jim (Laurie) Severt of Davenport, IA, Steve (Kore) Severt of Coralville, IA, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a brother, Richard Severt of Rowlett, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents,
