Ronald D. “Lumpy” Wallace, 51, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Monday, May 17, 2004 after a long & courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born on October 21, 1952 in Davenport, the son of Lester Carl & Norva Genevieve (Fitzgerald) Wallace and was a graduate of Bettendorf High School.
Ron was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He was employed as a truck driver for Cardinal Concrete of Bettendorf and in his spare time, enjoyed motor sports and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Ben of Wichita, Kansas; his parents, Lester & Genevieve Wallace of Davenport; his sisters, Brenda Wallace-Gingry & her husband, Chris of Rock Island, Illinois and Lisa Wallace-VanDamme & her husband, Tracy of Davenport; his brothers, Larry & his wife, Robin of Rock Island and Joe & his wife, Claudia of Bettendorf.
