Ryan L. "Rylie" Gean

January 28, 1993 — June 3, 2024

Ryan “Rylie” Lee Gean, 31, of Bettendorf passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois after a long and courageous battle with cancer and cancer-related medical issues.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a no-kill Humane Society of the donor’s choice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rylie was born on January 28, 1993, in Scottsdale, Arizona, the son of Timothy Gean and Patricia “Trish” Fosdick. In 2011, he graduated from Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Phoenix. Rylie earned his certification in IT work and enjoyed his job in tech support. He took pride in building custom computers and was very gifted in his field. He enjoyed video gaming, board games, Legos, Harry Potter, and listening to a wide range of music.
Those left to honor his memory are his mother, Trish Fosdick of Bettendorf; his father, Tim Gean of Phoenix; sisters, Lauren (Asher H.) Gean of Ogden, Utah, Ashley McKnight of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Chelsey (TJ) Tyndall of Colorado Springs, and Baelee (Luke) Zeiher of Sacramento, California; and Rylie’s faithful canine companion, Lydia.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
