Sheri Stafford, lovingly known as “Tess” to her family, 63, of Henry, Illinois, formerly of Lacon, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Henry Rehab and Nursing.

      Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15th at the Memorial Chapel at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with burial immediately following. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

      Sheri was born on July 15, 1963 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Frankie and Ella (Selzer) Davison. In 1982 she graduated from Maquoketa High School and continued her education to achieve her LPN degree. Sheri worked as an LPN for various agencies and nursing facilities within Iowa and Illinois. On December 27, 2003, she married Doyle Stafford in Lacon, Illinois. Spending time with her family, Bible study, birdwatching, and taking care of her pet bird, Polly, were among Sheri’s favorite pastimes.

      Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Doyle Stafford of Lacon; stepchildren, Michael Stafford of Cleveland, Illinois, Kimberly Stafford of Davenport, Iowa, Matthew Stafford of Cleveland, Illinois; father, Frankie Davison of Galva, Illinois; sister, Barbara (Carvel) Morgan of Davenport; and niece, Angelique (Evan) Kessens of Davenport.

      She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Davison.
