IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve
Rinehart
November 6, 1951 – December 5, 2025
Steven R. Rinehart, 74, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 5, 2025. His absence leaves a deep and quiet space in the hearts of all who loved him.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held next spring, when family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and the many memories he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting with arrangements.
Born in Davenport on November 6, 1951, Steve was the son of Rollin and Marguerite (Nowak) Rinehart. He earned his associate’s degree from Kirksville College (now Trenton State) in Kirksville, Missouri. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Marilyn J. Willey, beginning a partnership filled with devotion, humor, and unwavering support.
Steve worked in management for Titan Wheel (formerly French & Hecht) for 25 years before retiring. Never one to sit still for long, he later found great joy in his work in patient transport at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport. He cherished the friendships he made there and the opportunity to brighten someone’s day with a kind word or easy smile.
Away from work, Steve embraced the things that brought him happiness—time on the golf course, cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and the occasional wager on a horse race for a bit of fun. He had a gentle wit, a warm presence, and a way of making people feel truly seen.
Those who remain to honor his memory include his devoted wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Jennifer (Nathan Lenane) of McCausland, Iowa; his grandsons, Colton and Gavin Genz, who were the light of his life; his sister, Mary Ellen Dallman of Florida; and many cherished relatives and close friends.
Steve now reunites with his sisters Shirley Allen and Jeanette Rinehart; his brothers Robert, Jack, and Don Rinehart; and his parents, who welcomed him home.
