Steven Luttenegger

Steven J. Luttenegger, 59, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

There will be no services at this time and a Celebration of Steve’s life will be held in the fall.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Steve was born May 31, 1963 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Donald J. & JoAnn E. (Mertens) Luttenegger.

He was employed at Cracker Barrel in Davenport.  Prior to returning to Bettendorf, Steve had lived in Florida and Oregon.  He was pivotal in assisting his parents in their later years.

He enjoyed sports, particularly the Hawkeyes, the Oregon Ducks, the Miami Marlins and Miami Dolphins.  He had been a Religious Education teacher for several years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Steve drew great pleasure from fishing, and gardening, as well as maintaining friendships with people he met throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him.

Those left to honor his memory include his brothers, Michael Luttenegger of Overland Park, Kansas, Thomas (Sue) Luttenegger of Richfield, Minnesota and Scott (Squire) Luttenegger of Henderson, Nevada.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
