Taaliyah M. Bassett

Taaliyah May Bassett, 17, of Davenport passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family & friends, following a horrific misdiagnoses, yet courageous battle of Metastatic Melanoma Cancer.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22nd at Bettendorf High School Fine Arts Center. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to wear black-tie apparel in honor of Taaliyah.  Memorials may be directed to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Taaliyah was born on December 28, 2007 in Davenport, the daughter of Colleen Miller. Taaliyah enjoyed her circle of VR friends, swimming, and watching her FAVORITE YouTuber/Gamer, CoryxKenshin.

Those left to honor in her memory are her strong Mama, Colleen Miller of Davenport; her loving little sister, Malayah Jalloh, her pets KitCat & Bella; her other siblings, Isaiah (Natalia) Kerr, Jayden Kerr, Roy'el Bassett; aunts and uncles, Brandie (Justin) Hopkins, Marisa (Tyler) Brown, Allen (Shandi) Morrow, and Dustin Miller; nephews, Kamile and Kingston Kerr; maternal grandparents, Rick & Diane Rasso; maternal great-grandparents, Larry & Peggy Miller; and numerous cousins, great aunts, and great uncles.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Daniel Miller; and maternal great-grandparents, Elmer & Jeanette Burdick and Carolyn "Grandma Sue" Wilson.
