Theresa Rose Gillin, 94, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Ivy of Davenport in Davenport, Iowa.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc, Vianney Parish in Bettendorf. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park following the service. Memorials may be made to the church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

     She was born in Virden, Illinois, the daughter of August Andrew and Josephine (Fabina) Opremochak. On September 29, 1956, Theresa was united in marriage to John F. Gillin in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1975.

     Theresa was employed as a teller for the former Bettendorf Bank & Trust, retiring in 1996 after 25 years of faithful service.

     She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed bowling and loved the spent playing cards with her many friends.

     Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Janice Gillin of Bettendorf; her sons, Michael (Debbie) Gillin of Bettendorf and Patrick Gillin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her grandson, Samuel Snow; and her great-granddaughter, Jana Cauthen.

     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Cauthen; her son, James Gillin; her grandson, Jamin Cauthen; four sisters and five brothers.
