Theresa F. VenHorst

Theresa Francisca VenHorst (age 93) of Pleasant Valley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at The Vistas at Bettendorf. A Celebration of Life service will be held later this spring on a date to be announced.

Theresa Francisca Terhorst was born on October 3, 1932, in Holland, the daughter of Gerard and Maria (Tenbult) TerHorst. Theresa married Harry John VenHorst in Holland on November 15, 1955 in which they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Theresa was known for her contagious laughter, smile and beautiful Dutch accent.

Theresa worked for Dr. White in her younger years as caretaker for his children. Theresa was a member of Farm Bureau and St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Theresa was a loving mother and enjoyed playing cards, cooking, sewing, being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Theresa always kept a bountiful garden, and she enjoyed sharing her fresh vegetables and canned fruits with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband; Harry VenHorst of Pleasant Valley, IA, her children; Mike (Cindi) VenHorst, Larry VenHorst, Lory Beck, Jeff VenHorst, all of Bettendorf, Julia (Steve) Kerkove of Sycamore, IL, Grandchildren; Gary Beck, Ashley (Tyler) Holle, Marcus VenHorst, Taylor VenHorst, Morgan (Drake) Keese, Luke VenHorst, Jack VenHorst, Josie VenHorst, Ellie Kerkove, Step-Grandchildren; Steve Schindler, Candy Gall, Great-grandchildren; Ashlynn VenHorst, Mia Holle, Elliot Holle; and Sister; Ank (Henny) VanWilgenburg-TerHorst.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Diny, Welhemien, Maria VerBraak, brothers, Harry TerHorst, Theo TerHorst, Johan TerHorst, Gerard TerHorst, and sister-in-law, Trees TerHorst; Son-in-law Thomas Beck, Daughter-in-law Lorrie VenHorst.
