Thomas Carl Atwood Sr.

There are currently no services scheduled for Thomas Carl Atwood, Sr., 71, of Princeton, IA.  Thomas passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at his home in Princeton, IA. 

Thomas was born on May 7, 1952, at the former St. Luke’s Hospital, Davenport, the son of LeRoy and Gladys (Meier) Atwood. He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1970. He married Cindy Dirks on October 15, 1972, in Princeton, IA. In 1973 he started working at Alcoa and was hourly for 10yrs & a Supervisor for 18yrs in the Platemill Dept. before retiring in February of 2002.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and cars.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of Princeton, IA, daughter, Sara (Don) Buxbaum of Davenport, son, Tom (Mary) Atwood Jr., of Camanche, IA, grandchildren, John Buxbaum, Chloe Atwood, Thomas Atwood III, Dustin Buxbaum, Jamie Buxbaum, great-grandchildren, Bjorn Buxbaum, Frejya Buxbaum, sisters, Daisy Savage of AZ, Georgia Roberts of Davenport and brother, Larry Atwood of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Fred Atwood and sisters, Jackie Witcraft and Annie Hoggard.
