Thomas W. “Tom” Beardsley, 74, of Bettendorf, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3775 Middle Rd. in Bettendorf. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Those attending are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The service will also be live streamed and may be viewed by visiting the website of Our Savior Lutheran Church at https://oursaviorbett.org. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Tom was born on June 20, 1946 in Davenport, the son of William and Maxine (Leach) Beardsley. He was a 1964 graduate of West High School and then joined the U.S. Navy where he served as an electronics technician aboard the USS Platte. Following his military service, Tom was united in marriage to Linda L. Gray on August 10, 1968. Tom worked for Alcoa for 38 years prior to his retirement in April 2002. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf and also served on the Reunion Committee at West High School.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Tracy Beardsley of Bettendorf and Jennifer Beardsley of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren, Devon (and his fiancé, Abrianne), and Emilly; a brother, Bob (Sonja) Beardsley of Green Valley, Arizona; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, on October 31, 2020; and two brothers, John “Jack” and Robert Beardsley.
