Funeral services for Thomas Edward Hicks, 82, of Davenport will be 10:00 am on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military rites conducted by the American Legion #26, Davenport, IA. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 9:00 am to service time at the funeral home.

Thomas passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home in Davenport, IA.

Thomas was born on August 14, 1943, in Davenport, IA, the son of George and Mildred (Koos) Hicks. He married Carol Nissen in Rock Island, IL in 1974. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2022. Thomas worked in maintenance for John Deere and then as a handyman /front desk clerk for Twin Bridges Hotel and also for Casa Loma Inn, retiring in 2008.

Thomas enjoyed golfing, fishing, going to have coffee at the village inn, going to the casino and spending time with his grandchildren,

Survivors include several children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, Betty Pike, Josie Hayward, and brother’s Billy Hicks, Kelley Hicks

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sisters, Helen Hyett, Margaret Mitchell, Frances Walker, Marsha Hicks and brother, George Hicks
