A Celebration of Life service for Travis Laulus Leopard, 96, of Davenport, Iowa, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Central Church of Christ, Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion #26. Family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
Travis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport, Iowa.
Travis was born on January 21, 1926, in Ada, OK, the son of William Alton and Mary Lee (Rouse) Leopard. He married the girl of his dreams, Mary Jo Miller, on August 13, 1948 in Oklahoma, City, OK. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2018, a few months after their 70th anniversary.
Travis, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, dedicated his life to sharing the gospel and serving his church family at the Central Church of Christ as an Elder and in other leadership capacities for over 60 years. He retired from the insurance industry after 35 years but never stopped moving. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. His family and friends will miss his warm hugs, calming presence, wise counsel, and boundless optimism.
Survivors include his daughters; Melanie (Mike) Armes of Davenport, Kimberly (Scott) Priske of Brodhead, WI, sons; Paul (Rita) Leopard of Aurora, CO, Tony Leopard and Paul Henni of Denver, CO, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings: Raymond Leopard, Vernon Leopard, Leon Leopard, and Treela Wright.
Memorials may be directed to Midwest Bible Camp.
