Obituary

Virginia E. “Ginny” Lemons, 100, of Bettendorf, died peacefully on January 24, 2026, at the Vistas of Bettendorf.

Virginia was born November 11, 1925, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie (Pardun) Innis. She was a graduate of Davenport High School and AIC.

She married Arnold Brunstedt on August 5, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1950. They had two sons. She married Everett Lemons on August 24, 1956. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Virginia is survived by sons, Thomas (Jeri Jones) Lemons and William David Lemons; grandchildren, Joelle Gauf, Todd Lemons and William Bradley (Becky) Lemons; great-grandchildren, Briana Gauf and William Lemons; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, granddaughters, Wendy, Amy and Jennifer, and her daughter-in-law, Terry Lemons.

Virginia was a member of the Davenport First Christian Church since 1942 and enjoyed participating in Priscilla Circle, Sunday School, prayer circle and the deaconate. She worked with the Teen Clubs at the Bettendorf Community Center and at W. T. Grant.

She loved her church, her family and babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed canning, crocheting, reading and sewing.

Private graveside services will be held by the family at Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

The family is grateful for the compassionate care and support provided by MercyOne Genesis Hospice in Ginny’s final days.
