Wanda Ellis

Wanda Marie Carolyn Ellis, 89, formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa and Pleasant Valley, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Colona, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Grandview Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday at the church.  Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church of Davenport or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Wanda was born June 3, 1933 in Sikeston, Missouri, the daughter of John & Niva (Goetz) Williams.  She was united in marriage to Franklin D. Ellis on June 27, 1952 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on February 10, 2022.

Wanda and Frank had owned and operated Modular Engineering and E, E & E Industries.  She enjoyed the company of people and flowers.  She also enjoyed sports, as she was sought after to be on teams in high school as she was swift and agile.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Franklin Ellis of Davenport; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Ron Minnick of Colona; her grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Joseph and Zachary; her great-grandchildren, Kadyn and Kyrine; and her daughter-in-law, Katrina Bratton-Ellis of Arizona.

In addition to her husband, Frank, Wanda was preceded in death by her son, Randy Ellis and her brother, Charles Williams.
