William R. Baumbach, 73, of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Trinity Bettendorf. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church Pleasant Valley. Memorials may be made to the family.
Born on March 27, 1942 in Davenport, Bill was the son of Arnold and Gladys (Hansen) Baumbach. He served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific.
Bill loved nothing more than fishing for Northern Pike with his children and grandchildren in Minnesota. He was an avid collector of Matchbox Cars, enjoyed woodworking and building things in his workshop, and was always listening to the news.
Those left to honor his memory include his children Laura (Darren) Crumbleholme of Moline, Ronald Baumbach of Bettendorf, Christopher (Kelsi) Baumbach of LeClaire, and Beau Baumbach of Davenport; his grandchildren Sydney, Chelsea, Madison, Sheldon, Gracie, Jett, Colt, and Dylan; sisters Elizabeth Bailey and Jeanette Ward of Bettendorf; and brother Richard Baumbach of San Angelo, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Stark.
