Wilma M. Madsen

Wilma Maxine Madsen, 78, a resident of Long Grove, Iowa died Sunday, February 20, 2004 at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 24, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born March 4, 1926 in Santa Rosa, Missouri, the daughter of Dolpha & Cova (Searcy) Smith. She was united in marriage to Wayne D. Madsen on April 22, 1948 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2005.
Wilma farmed with her husband in Long Grove for many years. She enjoyed tending to her large vegetable garden, loved to cook and go fishing with her husband.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Lynn & Gary Anderson of Springfield, Illinois; her son, Don Madsen of Iowa City, Iowa; her grandchildren, Michael, Mitchell & Dana; her sister, Wanda Buck of Iowa City, Iowa; her nieces, Betty, Louann, Nancy & Linda; and her nephews, Rick, Rod & Bob.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son James Edward in 1976 and her brother, Lawrence Smith.
