Emmy Lou Dexter, 81, of Princeton, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Face masks will be required and social distancing will be observed. Burial will follow at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Princeton. Memorials may be made to the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department or Scott County 4-H.
Emmy was born April 23, 1939 in Eldridge, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin & Emma (Stoltenberg) Peters. She was united in marriage to Bruce G. Dexter on June 14, 1958 in Davenport.
Emmy had farmed alongside her husband in the Princeton area for many years. In earlier years, she had worked for the former Daily Times and Great River Bank & Trust.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Tony Dexter of Princeton, John (Denise) Dexter of Princeton and Steve (Jamie) Dexter of Eldridge; her grandchildren, Beau (Katie) Dexter, Ashley (Jenna) Dexter, Cody Dexter, Sophia Dexter and Emma Dexter; her great-grandchildren, Nora, Dani, Charley, Bella and Scottie; her sister, Evelyn (Earl) Gullion of Davenport; her sisters-in-law, Marietta Peters and Eileen Dexter, both of Eldridge; and her brothers-in-law, Dale (Marla) Dexter of LeClaire, Iowa, Craig (Sheryl) Dexter of Lost Nation, Iowa and Lee (Shellah) Dexter of Lowden, Iowa.
Emmy was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Eunice Johnson and Elaine Muhs; her brother, Eldon Peters; and her brother-in-law, Andrew Dexter.
