Obituary

Guy Garrison, 91, of LeClaire, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Burial will take place at a later date at Jack’s Cemetery, LeClaire, IA. Per Guy’s request, no services will be held.

Guy was born in Missouri on September 11, 1931, the son of Fuget and Mamie (Moore) Garrison. He married Lillian Lowery in Michigan on October 6, 1951. Guy worked at Alcoa for 40 years. His favorite pastime was mowing his lawn and anyone else’s who would let him. So much so that after a brief retirement, he rejoined the workforce at Glynns Creek Golf Course/Scott County Park and eventually fully retired at the age of 87 from the Davenport Country Club. Guy was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, LeClaire, Iowa. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian, and daughter, Donna Dudley both of LeClaire, Iowa, grandchildren, Carrie Helmle (Doug) of Davenport, Mollie Lighthall (Robert) of Elgin, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren, Evvy Helmle of Davenport and Joshua Lighthall of Elgin, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Bonnie Newman.
