Jessie Catlin

Jessie L. Catlin, 89, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020 at her home.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in Jessie’s honor to the American Kidney Foundation.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jessie was born December 19, 1930 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Lenore (Madin) Leight. Jessie was united in marriage to James Chadd in 1950 in Davenport. He preceded her in death.  She was united in marriage to Cletus U. “Fuzz” Fusselman in 1961 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death in 1991.  She later was united in marriage to Walter L. Catlin in 1995 in Las Vegas.  He preceded her in death in 2010.

Those left to honor Jessie’s memory include her sister, Jean Park of Clarence, New York; sister-in-law, Gail Leight of Long Grove, Iowa; her daughters, Judy Batson of Centralia, Illinois and Sherilynn Rose of Marietta, Georgia; her son, Jody Chadd of Gastonia, North Carolina; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Fusselman of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; and her sons, James N. Chadd and Jerrylee Fusselman; her three brothers, Marvin, Nathan and Kenneth Leight; and her son-in-law Patrick Rose.

Jessie retired from the Bettendorf school system in 1987 and enjoyed gardening, bowling, traveling and later in life, golf.
