Lavonne Little

LaVonne Little, 85, a resident of Princeton, Iowa died on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home surrounded by her beloved family.

Private family services will be held.  Memorials may be made to the Genesis Hospice or the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born in Davenport on January 5, 1935, the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Osterberg) Schafer.  On October 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Larry G. Little in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on May 2, 2013.

LaVonne was a devoted wife, mom, grandma & great-grandma whose life was centered on her family. Together with her husband, Larry, they enjoyed farming the Century Family Farm for the last 60 years. Christmas was always a special time of year for her and she was always there whenever she was needed.  For over 50 years, she was active in the “Better Late Than Never” card club.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Kim Fitzgerald of Princeton and Amy (Mike) Groenenboom of Bettendorf; her sons, Robin (Kathy) Little of Princeton and Rodney Little of Princeton; her grandchildren, Carrie Parrott, Matt Fitzgerald, Brittany Little, Madeline Little, Brett Little, Kelli Little, Lauren Groenenboom and Ryan Groenenboom; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Parrott, Elizabeth Parrott, Madison Fitzgerald, Riley Fitzgerald and Hailey Fitzgerald; her sisters, Sonja Negus of Maysville, Shullie Schafer of Davenport and Dawn Skahill-White of Topeka, Kansas; and many other relative and wonderful friends.

In addition to her husband, LaVonne was preceded in death by her son, Greg Little.

The family extends their special thanks to her doctors, Genesis 4th Floor nurses, Genesis VNA and Hospice for the special and loving care shown to LaVonne.
