Marchetta M. “Mikki” Jaeger, 72, of Davenport passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Adventure Christian Community, 6509 Northwest Blvd, Davenport.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.  Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer’s Association.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mikki was born on November 6, 1948 in Spring Valley, Illinois, the daughter of Dale and Ethel (Grigg) Talmadge.  On May 28, 1966, she married Loras “Butch” Jaeger in Davenport.  During Butch’s service in the U.S. Air Force, they were stationed in Okinawa, Japan.  Mikki became an advocate for proper adoption protocol and together they founded the Okinawa Adoption Support and Information Society (OASIS).   Through their efforts over 1,000 children were adopted into safe and loving homes.  Mikki was very supportive of military families and was presented with the Great American Family of the Year Award for the Pacific Region by President Ronald and First Lady Nancy Reagan.

Mikki was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her greatest accomplishment was raising her family and instilling in them the Christian values that were so important to her.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 55 years, Butch Jaeger of Davenport; daughters, Rose Jaeger of Davenport, Angela (Detaris) Smith of Lafayette, Indiana; sons, Daniel (Heidi) Jaeger of Bettendorf, Dale (Michelle) Jaeger of Davenport; 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mona (Ken) Kruse of Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Talmadge.
