Richard Denny

Richard A. Denny, 70, of Davenport passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Richard was born on February 19, 1950 in Moline, the son of William and Doris (Heskett) Denny.  He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1968.  On November 16, 1968, he married Georgia R. Anderson at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport.  Richard worked as a manager at the Iowa 80 Truck Stop for over 30 years.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was also an avid Yankees baseball fan.

Those left to honor his memory are his children, Michelle (Jason) Snell of Davenport, Richard (Ashley) Denny of Walcott; mother, Doris Denny of Winter Springs, Florida; four grandchildren, Mikaila (Chance) Johnson, Kari Snell, Logan Snell, Lillyanna Denny; two great-granddaughters, Marleigh and Gemma Johnson.

In addition to his father, William, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; and siblings, James and Linda.
