Scott Madison

Scott A. Madison, 55, of LeClaire, Iowa passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Unity Point Trinity, Bettendorf.  In continuing with Scott’s giving and caring nature, he gave the gift of life through organ donation.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be honored and masks are recommended for those attending.  The family requests casual attire and no suits!  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Scott was born on September 10, 1964 in Independence, Iowa, the son of Ralph Madison and Susan (Roloff) Curtiss.  He graduated in 1983 from Mason City High School and continued his education at the University of Iowa, where he earned his Bachelors in Marketing.  Most recently Scott worked at Verizon as a computer engineer.  He also worked part-time as a farmhand for Hamilton H & S Land.

Scott was known for his incredible sense of humor and the skills to fix just about anything.  He enjoyed tinkering in the machine shop and took great pride in teaching those around him, especially children, the skills to be self-reliant in life.  He looked forward to the yearly fishing trips to Hayward, Wisconsin with his family.  Scott was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Minnesota Viking, and Milwaukee Brewer fan.  In his spare time he enjoyed motorcycle racing.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jodi Hamilton of LeClaire; daughter, Macie Claude of Bettendorf; soon-to-be granddaughter, Anne Francis; father, Ralph (Mary) Madison of Mason City, Iowa; siblings, Jeff (Jayne) Madison of Flagstaff, Arizona, Megan (Stevens) Smith of Marshalltown, Iowa, Josh Madison of Phoenix, Arizona; father and mother-in –law, Steve and Dawn Hamilton of LeClaire; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kristin (Brad) Chenoweth of Cottontown, Tennessee,  Seth (Joslyn) Hamilton of  LeClaire; nieces and nephews, Sophie and Jack Madison, Stevie Smith, Isabella and Maggie Chenoweth, Isaiah Hamilton; two cats that he could not stand, Raptor and Rexie; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan (Roloff) Curtiss; brother in infancy, Nathaniel Madison; maternal and paternal grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
